MYTHOLOGY

Our name comes from the urban myth of a London cinema that was destroyed during the blitz. One which local people continued to visit and stage events on its derelict grounds, events which according to some were occasioned by the sound of old film scores in the air, as if the old cinema itself was calling people back to watch films within it’s now absent and invisible walls.

We take the name and use it as such; the cinema is a place where people gather, to share an experience in the dark, to share ideas, hopes and dreams. Nowadays we need these dreams more than ever. We watch films at Cinemas / Movie Theatres, at home on DVD, at friends’ houses, on cruise ships, and in hotels.

Regardless of the means of delivery, films are ever present in our lives, and we carry the cinema with us wherever we go, it resides in our minds and hearts. Our Invisible walls symbolise inclusiveness. The place where we meet is called The Invisible Cinema, a world of creation.
